The noblest of sayings is that every healthy man is a king.

A maxim from the poem “Diambad messe bad rí réil”. The maxim is also incorporated into the version of the life of Brigit found in the Leabhar Breac (MS page 64b line 7):

Fecht and tanic araile clam co Brigit do chunchid bó. Dixit Brigit fris: ‘Cia de is ferr lett, bó do breith no th’ ícc don chlaime.’ At-bert in clam ba ferr lais a ícc dia chlaime oltás rigi ind uli domain dó. ‘Ar is rig cech slán’, ol se. Do-rigne tra Brigit ernaigthi fri Dia co ro h-íctha in clam & cor’ fhógain do Brigit iar sin.
